No one was injured in a 19-car crash that closed the Garden State Parkway for several hours Saturday evening, State Police said.

The crash happened just after 5:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes in Bass River Township, Sgt. Lawrence Peele said.

At least 19 cars were involved, but there were no injuries in the pileup, Peele said.

The highway reopened around 8:30 p.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
