APPLE WILL REQUIRE APP DEVELOPERS TO POST PRIVACY PRACTICES BEFORE USERS DOWNLOAD A NEW APP OR UPDATE AN EXISTING APP
(CNN) – Starting next month, any time you download an app, Apple will require the app’s developer to provide information on their privacy practices.
This means Apple users will be able to get a better idea of what’s going on inside an app before downloading it.
Much like a nutrition label on groceries, through the privacy pages on each app’s product page, users can read about some of the data the app may collect, and whether that data is linked to them or used to track them.
Developers will need to self-report the privacy information when submitting updates to existing apps or new apps beginning on December 8th.
