Dirt 5 is coming to PC and current-gen consoles like the Xbox One and Playstation 4 come November 6, 2020, but the real news recently was confirmation from Codemasters that next-gen upgrades are happening. When the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S release on November 10, 2020, Dirt 5 will be right there as a launch title, featuring up to 4K resolutions and up to 120fps, along with other visual enhancements. Now, we get to see the game in action running on the upcoming Xbox Series S.
Utilizing Xbox Smart Delivery, the Xbox Series S will be optimized for Dirt 5 day one, and shows off crispy 1440p gameplay at a smooth and consistent 60fps in the gameplay trailer. Even with YouTube compression, the game looks great, with nice reflections, textures, and loads of little details in the car model like working guages, suspension, and more. If Dirt 5 is any indication, the Xbox Series S is shaping up to be a perfectly capable gaming machine in its own right.
Dirt 5 is out November 6, but will have its next-gen enhancements ready the moment the next-gen Xbox’s are out in the wild. Dirt 5 has also promised Playstation 5 enhancements, but until we learn more about the Playstation 5 those details remain hidden.
