A driver died Monday night after crashing into parked vehicles at a residential street corner in Chula Vista, police said.

It happened around 8:15 p.m. at Kearney Street and Twin Oaks Avenue, in a neighborhood between J and K streets and Second and Third avenues, police Lt. Gino Grippo said.

The driver struck the parked vehicles for unknown reasons and died at the scene, according to Grippo, who could not immediately provide the victim’s age or gender.

The intersection, lined by single-story homes on all sides, remained closed as of late Monday night.

No other details were immediately available.
