NEW HAVEN — A firefighter was injured in an auto fire on State Street Sunday night that involved some minor extension to a home, according to fire officials.

Additional units responded to the fire, including Engine 10, 8, and 17, according to a post on social media by the New Haven Fire Department.

“All civilians are OK. One firefighter was transported to Yale for a minor injury,” said Justin McCarthy, New Haven assistant fire chief. He added it was a leg injury.

He said the home can be reoccupied as all damage was contained to the exterior.

“The fire was brought under control quickly,” McCarthy said.

The call regarding the fire came in around 6:30 p.m.

The fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office, McCarthy said.

No other information is available at this time.
