ID.me and background and identity services provider Sterling have partnered to launch a new digital identity solution for the employment and screening sector, aimed at streamlining hiring procedures and employee background checks. The solution will also help to simplify remote-hiring due to the pandemic.

The new solution builds on ID.me’s widely-used digital identity wallet, which provides a secure verified profile (via a video chat option) through which individual users are able to share verified careers and other credentials. The wallet accelerates career mobility because identity is not repeatedly needing to be preapproved, and employers can request identity verified at different levels of trust all the way up to NIST 800-63-3 IAL2/AAL2. ID.me was also recently selected by the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment to provide biometric identity proofing as protection against fraud for the state’s unemployment benefits.

Around 70 percent of the adult U.S. population is able to access unemployment benefits through ID.me’s verification process. Around 40,000 businesses and organizations rely on Sterling’s tech-enabled services to conduct over 100 million background searches, which both helps to build trust and deter fraudulent claims. Sterling also runs a COVID-19 testing program, helping to protect business workforces.

IDnow biometric authentication integrated with vehicle-sharing platform

Transportation technology service provider M-Tribe is now integrating IDnow’s AI-based biometric technology into the company’s M-Tools platform, as part of a new strategic partnership.

M-Tools provides vehicle sharing solutions (including e-scooters and e-bikes), and will leverage IDnow AutoIdent to verify users via the smartphone app or web application, and authorize the use of the service.

IDnow AutoIdent can securely validate a user’s age via a driving licence against a biometric selfie with facial recognition. The platform also supports over 30 languages across 195 countries and integrates video-based analysis for ease-of-use.
