Apple is known for keeping the exact battery capacities of its iPhones under wraps, relying on other sources like regulatory certifications and teardowns to reveal these details. Thanks to the Brazilian regulator Anatel, we now have the official battery capacities for the newly launched iPhone 16 series.
iPhone 16 Battery Capacity Breakdown
- iPhone 16: 3,561 mAh battery (up 6.3% from iPhone 15)
- iPhone 16 Plus: 4,674 mAh battery (up 6.6% from iPhone 15 Plus)
- iPhone 16 Pro: 3,582 mAh battery (up 9.4% from iPhone 15 Pro)
- iPhone 16 Pro Max: 4,685 mAh battery (up 5.5% from iPhone 15 Pro Max)
The clear standout here is the Pro model, which boasts the most significant battery increase at 9.4% compared to its predecessor. However, it’s important to note that even with modest battery capacity increases, both the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max deliver improved longevity. This is largely due to the advanced A18 and A18 Pro chips and enhanced thermal management, which make the devices more power-efficient.
Faster Charging Capabilities
In addition to battery improvements, all models now support 25W MagSafe charging. To take advantage of this, you’ll need to invest in Apple’s latest MagSafe charger and a 30W power adapter. For even faster charging, the iPhones can reach speeds of up to 45W over USB-C, making power top-ups quicker than ever before.
Pokdepinion: It’s a pretty healthy upgrade across the board, and while I’m excited to see how the battery life will fare, I’m in the midst of testing one of them right now. If anything, I’m surprised it’s still taking a while, which is a great sign for its battery life but not for me who wants to sleep soon. Stay tuned for the full review.
