NEW DELHI: South Korean tech giant LG has launched the company’s first ever and unique dual screen smartphone as the part of its new Explorer project. Dubbed LG Wing, the smartphone allows users to use the device in Swivel mode in which the front of the device rotates clockwise 90 degrees enabling users to interact with the second screen while having uninterrupted content on the main screen.
The company claims that the hinge module comes with Hydraulic Damper which reduces the stress on the mechanism when the main screen is rotated. The company has also applied a thermoplastic polyoxymethylene on the back of the main screen which helps in smooth swiveling and to prevent scratches on the second screen. LG also mentioned that it has tested the hinge mechanism for 200000 swivels.
The company has also entered into partnership with YouTube and the device comes pre-installed with the Naver Wahle browser. The videos are played on the main screen while the second screen displays the comments.
