The all-new Porsche 911 GT3 has been teased in the company’s official 2020 Super Bowl American Football advert. Spotted undisguised in the background of the film, the track-focused model is expected to be officially revealed later in the year.
Like previous spy shots, the Porsche 911 GT3 in the advert wears a twin spoiler, with a duck-tail mounted to the engine cover and a larger aerofoil attached to the car’s rear wings. It’s joined by a pair of huge scoops underneath the rear window, which channel air towards the car’s engine. Underneath it all sits a huge pair of central-exit tailpipes.
This 911 GT3 features the same full-width LED light-bar fitted to the standard version of the latest 911, but its wheelarches are noticeably more flared to accommodate the car’s wider track and larger wheels and tyres.
Porsche’s Superbowl advert only provides a rear three-quarter image of the new 911 GT3, so it’s difficult to nail down the rest of the car’s styling features. Should it remain faithful to previous spy shots of development cars, though, expect a redesigned ventilated bonnet, a tweaked front bumper and re-profiled front splitter.
As for what’s likely to power the car, expect to see the 493bhp naturally aspirated flat-six engine found in the limited-run 911 Speedster. Both dual-clutch and manual transmissions are expected to be available, along with Porsche’s rear-wheel steering system.
