We’re pretty fortunate to have a PlayStation 4 Community that still sees some activity, but we wonder how many people interact with it on their phones? Not many, it would seem, as Sony has pulled the plug on the iOS and Android app dedicated to the PS4 feature.

Presumably closed due to a lack of activity, the PlayStation Communities app on smartphones no longer functions. If you try to boot up the application, you’ll be greeted with the following message:

Thank you for using PlayStation Communities.

The service provided by this app has ended.

Please continue enjoying Communities on PS4.

Pretty straightforward, isn’t it?

No reason for the shutdown is provided, but again, we can only put it down to a very small number of active users. Communities are still very much alive and kicking on PS4, of course — you just can’t view them on your smart device anymore. The app was around for just over three years, but now, you might as well delete the thing.

Did you make use of the PlayStation Communities app on your phone? Get together in the comments below.
