Redmi’s highly-anticipated smartphone which is rumoured to launch as K20 Pro may launch imminently.
Tang Mu, the general manager of Xioami Smart Hardware Division on his Weibo account stated that Xiaomi could launch the much-awaited smartphone on May 13. Earlier, Mu confirmed that Redmi’s flagship device would not be called as Redmi X, as rumoured previously.
Further, he stated that the company would launch “one more thing” without giving any details about the product. It is speculated that Xiaomi may launch an IoT smart home device as Mu heads the Smart Hardware Division.
What we know so far is the Redmi K20 Pro would get powered by a top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. The smartphone is said to have a bezel-less display with a pop-up front camera. The Redmi K20 Pro is also rumoured to have a 6.3-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
A GizmoChina report states that the flagship device would have a 48MP primary camera at the back. Under the hood, the device could also pack a 4,000 mAh battery which is a standard amongst Xioami devices lately. It is reported to support 27W fast charging as well. The device could launch in India and rebrand as Poco F2.
Xiaomi may also unveil a “Lite” variant of the smartphone with a Snapdragon 700 series processor. Xiaomi India MD Manu Jain has confirmed that Xioami is working on a smartphone with Snapdragon 730 SoC. There are several rumours that suggest the Mi A3 would get powered by the latest mid-range processor offering from Qualcomm.
