At the virtual 2021 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), accessory maker Satechi has announced two new multi-device charging gadgets.
Every home and office has a bunch of devices – phones, tablets, Kindles, headphones, and so on – that need daily charging, and getting to the charging point first becomes a battle in many households.
A convenient, clutter-free charger that can power up more than one device at a time is going to be a handy tool.
The first, the Dock5, can, as its name suggests, charge up to five devices simultaneously.
Its full name, Dock5 Multi-Device Charging Station with Wireless Charging, tells you just about everything you need to know.
It features two USB-C Power Delivery (PD) ports at up to 20W each, and two 12W USB-A ports, plus a 10W Qi wireless charging pad.
You’ll need the relevant USB-A or USB-C cables for the non-wireless ports, of course. For example, an iPhone would require either a USB-A-to-Lightning or USB-C-to-Lightning cable to work in the Dock5.
Devices can be charged while in protective cases.
The $59.95 Dock5 is ETL and CE certified with over-temperature protection.
Satechi’s Aluminum 2-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Stand (also $59.95) is aimed at the latest Apple phones and AirPods.
It hosts a magnetic wireless charger for iPhone 12 (up to 7.5W) and another wireless charging pad for compatible AirPod cases (up to 5W).
It is built with an aluminium base and a stainless steel stand, matching both the iPhone 12 family (12, 12 Max and 12 Pro) and AirPods.
LED lights indicate when devices are charging.
Non-slip padding, built-in magnets and indentation grooves prevent devices from slips or falls for added protection while powering.
