Qualcomm Snapdragon 865

American multinational company Qualcomm has unveiled a sequel to their Snapdragon 865 chipset. The new 865+ chip comes with improved CPU and GPU performance to further ensure that users get superior gameplay amongst other things. As expected, the chipset features a 5G modem which according to the company is ‘truly global’. In today’s post, we will be talking about the features and specs of this chipset.

CPU and GPU Performance

The new SD 865+ surpasses the 3GHz CPU clock speed which at a time looked near impossible to achieve. This is thanks to a robust Kryo 585 cores clocking at 3.1 GHz which saw a boost of 10% in performance from the SD 865 chip that clocks at 2.84 GHz. However, the other three Kryo 585 cores which make up the four big cores, clocks at a relatively small 2.42 GHz.

The CPU isn’t the only department that saw a 10% performance improvement. The Adreno 650 GPU was also able to achieve that feat thanks to a clock speed boost. The Snapdragon Elite Gaming features efficiency, speed, audio and impressive graphics. Optimizations of the graphics are done in real-time with the GPU drivers which are updateable. The company promises desktop-quality performance to mobile gaming arenas, so expect the very best of graphics quality.

5G Connectivity and Wi-Fi

The chipset features Qualcomm’s 5th gen Artificial Intelligence (AI) engine which offers real-time translation capabilities. This will help eliminate language barriers and ensures seamless communication with global teammates. The X55 5G modem system (which supports both sub-6 GHz and mmWave) has a speed of 7.5 Gbps for smooth and also immersive cloud-based gaming. It is also important to note that the modem is ‘global’ and supports spectrum bands in virtually every region of the world.
