Aiming to boost its struggling mobile division, Sony (NYSE:SNE) has unveiled its first 5G smartphone as next-generation mobile networks continue to roll out across the globe.

The device, called the Xperia 1 II, has a 6.5-inch 4K high dynamic range (HDR) display, and emphasizes photo capabilities, hardware inclusions like a 3.5mm headphone jack and support for wireless charging.

Sony saw mobile phone sales decline nearly 16% Y/Y in the December quarter, but the unit did swing to a profit.
