There’s still a lot we don’t know about the next Dragon Age game, such as the official title or how gameplay has changed. According to a new report from Bloomberg however, we can be sure it’s a single-player role-playing game.

According to the report, this upcoming fourth game in the Dragon Age franchise was originally planned to include a “heavy multiplayer component” but that EA executives were convinced by BioWare leads to take a different direction after seeing the success of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which crossed 10 million players in its first four months.

The next Dragon Age game has been in some stage of development since 2015, with multiple leads leaving the project, while the game was officially revealed at the 2018 Game Awards. Currently, the game is led by creative director Matthew Goldman, with Christian Dailey as the new executive producer for the Dragon Age franchise as a whole. The game is set somewhere in the Tevinter Imperium but may also explore other lands such as Antiva.
