The next race for smartphone brands is mostly focused on who can offer a better display for gaming. If you think 90Hz refresh rate should be the new display standard for smartphones then brace yourself for 144Hz refresh rate. The next Nubia Red Magic smartphone is expected to come with 144Hz refresh rate along with 5G support. It would be interesting to see what kind of difference the Nubia Red Magic can actually come up with the 144Hz refresh rate display.

There’s little word from the company as to what else to expect from the Red Magic 5G phone, however, it is expected that the device will feature the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

Nubia is already gearing up to launch a Snapdragon 865-powered gaming device and that too a 5G one. While the 5G variant of the device may not launch in India, the company is expected to introduce the 4G variant in the Indian markets.

Nubia recently teased an image on Chinese microblogging website Weibo that clearly mentions the 5G gaming smartphone with Snapdragon 865. Support for X55 modem will be there and as such, the gaming device will support Non-Standalone (NSA) and Standalone (SA) 5G networks in China. It is expected to run Android 10. It is expected that this is the same phone that will come with 144Hz refresh rate display.

The Red Magic phone with Snapdragon 865 could be the first phone to come with support for dual-mode 5G. Also, the next Black Shark smartphone is also said to be in the works.
