NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has released a list of smartphones which will receive Android Pie and Android Oreo update. The company is expected to roll out the Android Pie and Oreo update for the smartphones by Q2 this year.

The company has also mentioned that the smartphones which have already received both the Android updates will not receive any further Android updates. The company will be rolling out the Android update for both Mi and Redmi smartphones.

The smartphones which will receive Android Pie update will get features like New system navigation, Smart Text Selection, Redesigned Quick Settings, Simplified Volume Controls, New Dashboard, App Timer, New Do Not Disturb mode and Wind Down feature.

On the other hand, devices getting Android Oreo update will get features like Native picture-in-picture mode, Notification dots, Smart Text selection, Improved battery life, Pin app shortcuts, Autofill framework and others.

The company has also released Android Pie on some of its smartphones which include Xiaomi Mi 8, Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition,
Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 8 SE,
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S,
Xiaomi Mi Max 3.

Recently, Xiaomi launched its first smartphone in India with a 48MP rear camera. Dubbed
Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro, the smartphone is exclusively available on Flipkart and comes with a starting price tag of Rs 13,999.

The smartphone comes with a dual rear camera setup. The device sports a 48MP primary sensor paired with a 5MP depth sensor with LED flash. The 48MP main camera comes with a Sony IMX586 sensor and f/1.79 aperture. It is interesting to note that the 48MP camera works in the Pro mode and otherwise the smartphone will capture 12MP images. The company claims that the smartphone is capable of capturing brighter images.
