1/8 Scale RC Version of the Back to the Future DeLorean Created by YouTuber


The iconic DeLorean time machine from the original Back to the Future movie has been recreated in a 1/8 scale RC version by YouTuber jeremyspoint. Using an Eaglemoss model kit, jeremyspoint meticulously assembled a detailed replica of the time-traveling car.

The Eaglemoss die-cast metal kit includes scaled versions of the DeLorean’s interior and exterior, featuring intricate details such as the nuclear reactor, cables, time circuits, and even the flux capacitor. All of the lights on the model illuminate, including the time travel equipment. The front wheels are able to turn, and both the gullwing doors and the frunk (front trunk) can be opened.

The conversion of the Eaglemoss kit into an RC car was no easy task. Jeremyspoint had to modify the model and ensure that all of its functioning details were retained. This involved remotely operating the steering and wheels, allowing the DeLorean to be controlled wirelessly.

The resulting RC version of the Back to the Future DeLorean is incredibly realistic and impressive. Jeremyspoint created a video reenacting the famous Twin Pines Mall scene from the movie, complete with lights, sounds, and visual effects. Additionally, he documented the process of converting the Eaglemoss kit into a working RC car in another video.

The Back to the Future franchise, despite the last movie being released 33 years ago, remains extremely popular. Apart from the Eaglemoss scale model, there are also Lego kits available to modify the time machine to match each version seen in the films. Furthermore, there is a musical based on the first movie and a limited edition timepiece made from John DeLorean’s personal DMC-12 car.

On the topic of DeLorean Motor Company, the company has plans to manufacture new electric vehicles including the gullwing Alpha5 four-passenger coupe. They have also presented three other concept cars in recent years, including an Alpha2 sports car and an Alpha4 SUV.
