Couple to drive from Arctic to Antarctica in an electric car


Driving an electric vehicle from Scotland to London would be daunting for most people, but Chris and Julie Ramsey are to set out on a ten-month journey from the magnetic North Pole to the South Pole in a climate-friendly SUV.

The couple, from Aberdeen, described their Arctic to Antarctica adventure as “a mindful, epic journey of discovery” as they prepared to travel 17,000 miles through more than a dozen countries. They are due to leave this week.

Anyone who tries an EV journey of over 150 miles in Britain will probably suffer ”range anxiety” — worry about a lack of charging points and long queues at any they may find.

The Ramseys, however, are as prepared for their expedition as can be.
