Dixon Technologies unit Padget Electronics inks agreement with Longcheer Mobile for smartphone production


Dixon Technologies has informed the stock exchanges on Friday, April 19, that its wholly-owned subsidiary Padget Electronics has entered into an agreement with Longcheer Mobile India for manufacturing and sale of smart phones for global brands.

Dixon’s wholly owned subsidiary Padget Electronics Private Limited has entered into an agreement with Longcheer and has commenced the production/ manufacturing and sale of smart phones for large global brands with Longcheer’s design and technology,” the company said in a filing.

Atul B Lall, Vice Chairman and Managing Director at Dixon Technologies said this association will give a strong impetus to India’s manufacturing competitiveness. “It gives us an immense pleasure to partner with ‘Longcheer’ for undertaking manufacturing and sale of smart phones for large global brands with Longcheer’s design and technology.”

“We are confident that this is just the beginning of a large & prolific relationship and there is immense potential to further build on the shared capabilities to deliver sustainable growth,” Lall said.

Longcheer provides integrated smart product services to global leading consumer electronics brands and tech enterprises across multiple countries and regions with global delivery capabilities and has approximately 28% share of original design manufacturer (ODM) at global level.

The company has strong capabilities in product-level solution design, hardware innovation design, system-level software platform development, lean production, supply chain integration and quality control capabilities, Dixon said in a statement.

Shares of Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd. were trading nearly a percent lower at 7,442.75 apiece on the NSE today.
