If you have a Google family group set up, you can now share your passwords with members of the group. Securely sharing passwords with family members will allow them access to shared accounts and services without having to jot down or remember the passwords separately. Here’s everything you need to know to start sharing your Google passwords with your family group.  

How to Share Passwords With Your Google Family Group

You will need to be member of a family group (with up to 6 members) to share passwords. The feature will become available once you update Google Play Services to version 24.20 or above. It is also currently available only on the mobile version of Google Chrome.

Here’s how you can share your Google passwords with members in your family group. 

  1. Open the Chrome app on your mobile. Tap on the three-dot icon in the top right corner and select Settings.
  2. Tap on Password Manager and select the website or app whose login information you want to share.
  3. Under your login information, tap on Share.
  4. Under ‘Share a copy of your password’, select the members of the family with whom you want to share your password.
  5. Tap on Share.
  6. Tap on Confirm to do so.
  7. The selected family members will receive a copy of your login information for the selected website or app.
