So far, the feature is limited to the Galaxy S24 series, running on OneUI 6.1 based on Android 14 OS, and the same is expected to expand to older models soon. While audio call recording was feasible on Galaxy devices, it was limited to instances where VoWiFi was off or required third-party apps.
Unlike Google Dialer, Samsung’s approach does not announce call recording, allowing automatic recording when enabled. Call recording in VoWiFi mode is accessible on Galaxy smartphones using the latest dialer app (version 15.1.66 or newer), covering VoLTE (4G) and VoNR (5G) calls as well.
Phones using OneUI 6 or older versions currently show a pop-up stating ‘cannot record WiFi calls’ on Samsung devices. This capability is presently restricted to three smartphones, and users can activate VoWiFi calling from the quick setting panel, facilitating both audio and video calls through the Samsung dialer app.
VoWiFi surpasses regular voice calls in audio quality, particularly indoors or in areas with intermittent cellular network coverage. It also prevents call disconnections caused by network issues.
